Lonnie, I too am directly descended from Paul Busey with fairly good documentation. I'd be glad to share any information and my line with you. There has been speculation over the years about the relationship, if any, between George Bussey and Paul Busey. What is known is they were neighbors and knew each other in MD in the mid to late 1600's. To the best of my knowledge no positive evidence has been brought forward that the two families were in any way related. The speculations range from: 1. There is no relation 2. They were related in the UK and the spelling iterated in colonial US 3. They were relatively uneducated planters whose spelling was modified by the registration clerks in the colonies 4. They were brothers before they came to the US. [Keep in mind that Paul came over indetured to his step-father Henry Cox. There is a possible connection with Virginia in 1650 before MD in Jan. 1651 which is speculation I am loath to mention.]] Henry Cox states in his demand for land in MD that his "former" wife was Elizabeth Busey, spelled with one "s", for whatever that is worth. I have a copy of those original documents. Enough for now. Hugh W. Busey 8th Great Grandson of Paul Busey
