Rebecah, I have been reading the Bussell postings and wanted to let you know I knew Milam and Dommon Bussell and your father Buster. My grandmother, Maude Bussell (Jones) was Dommon's brother. Dammon and Milam lived about 3 or 4 streets over from my grandparents: Maude and Jesse Jones in Canton, NC. Dommon and his first wife Dessie use to own a store on North Main Street in Canton and then when she died he closed it. He married Milam. I don't know how they met but I do remember growing up and playing with Deborah and Buster lived there with them also. Then they moved to close to Hiwassee, Georgia and I rarely saw them after that. My cousin who lived alot w/my grandparents went to Georgia with my grandmother to visit them several times. After my grandparents died we kind of lost track. My mother, Velma Jones (Ledford) grew up with Dessie and Dommon's children: Helen, Lois anad James (Buster)Bussell. Helen and my mother were best friends and I went often to their house as a child. My mother passed away in March 2003 but I found two boxes of old letters and there were a few from James J. (Buster) Bussell to my mother when he was in service. I also found a picture of Dommon and Milam holding a large cake which looks like a wedding cake. I assume this wash when they got married. I am still doing research on the Bussells but would be interested in sharing info with you. I hope to hear from you. Also, my cousin tells me that at least one and maybe two of Milam's sisters lived on the next street from them. I know they were Martins. I can't remember their married names, I will have to look that up. Fred Bussell was Maude and Dammons father. Their mothera, Annie MaGaha Bussell was their mother died when they were young and he remarried a Etta. They lived some in Claiborne, TN and Cock Co. Milam and Dammon lived in Canton because he worked at the paper mill there. Keep in touch.
