I am seeking ANY information on this Bussell Family Line. I am a descendant of this Thomas Bussell.....I think!
According to my information, I have the following and I have a large database of information that I am willing to share, not sell, with anyone. Please contact me soon.
Thomas BUSSELL was born on February 8, 1848 in Putnam County, TN.. He died on October 10, 1933 in Cookeville, Putnam County, TN. He was buried in Howell Cemetery, White County, TN. SOURCE-NOTE: From George W. Bussell of Michigan. He states: "My grandfather, Thomas Bussell, owned a Rolling Store in White or Putnam County, TN at one time. He and his five sons from his second marriage also owned and operated a Dogwood and Hickory Mill in the Cookeville area. Grandfather Thomas told of visiting a John Bussell in Lenoir City, TN in about 1930. Both men were about age 80 at that time. John Bussell was the President of the First National Bank at Lenoir City, TN at one time. John told of other Bussell's living near the Tennessee River at Linden, TN. Another John Bussell owned a Dry Goods Store in Linden, TN., many years ago.
SOURCE-NOTE: According to information from Mrs. Wilma Ruth (HOWELL) Boylin, of Nashville, TN. Thomas Bussell said he caught his wife Lucy (SPEARS) fornicating with his cousin, Washington Elrod, also known as Uncle Wash Elrod. Is it possible that this Wash Elrod is the father of John Amon, Samuel D., and Sarah Lucinda Bussell ? Only a guess. Thomas Bussell claimed he was not the father of John Amon and Samuel D. Bussell. He would run them out of his house when they visited him. It is believed that Thomas Bussell only fathered 2 children with Lucy (Spears) his 1st wife, and that was Celia, and Mary S. Bussell. Mrs. Wilma Ruth (HOWELL) Boylin, says that she has no idea who this Sarah Lucinda Bussell is, and neither has anyone else in the family heard of her name being mentioned.
