Ruth Jean Elliott Buskirk, a native of Indiana and a resident of Cape Coral Fla died Sept 11, 2008 at the home of her caregiver. She was 83
Mrs. Buskirk, known as "Ruthie" was born April 10, 1925. in Eminence Ind, to Ed and Ivy Dee McCormick Elliott. She was a 1943 graduate of Martinsville High School in Indiana.
She married Charles Buskirk in Nashville In on June 16, 1946.
Mrs. Buskirk was co-owner of Buskirk's TV & Appliences from 1953 until her retirement in 1979.
She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Martinsville, and was a member of the Kapppa Kappa Kappa soriety, MHMC Hospital Guild, Elliott Clan, the Littell Families of America, Colonial Dames, Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge, National society Daughters of the American Revolution and Indiana Pioneers.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her brother Bernard McCormick Elliott, and grandchildren Benjamin and Jerusha Buskirk.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Charles Buskirk of Cape Coral FL;son Craig Elliott Buskirk of Yorktown IN; daughter Holly R Buskirk of Wonder Valley CA; grandsons Christopher W Buskirk formerly of Wonder Valley, Nicholas E Buskirk of Wonder Valley, Corey E Buskirk of Yorktown; granddaughters Caitlin E Buskirk and Chloe E Buskirk both of Yorktown; and 3 great-granddaughters, Nichole, Helen and Perah Buskirk.
Internment was in Greenlawn Cemetery following a graveside service.

Notes for Isaac Van Buskirk:
Isaac Buskirk served in both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
He entered service in 1778 for a period of twelve months and was discharged in February 1779.
listed as serving in John McElroy's Company from October 20, 1812 to January 11 1813.
