Harold,
I checked the VanBuskirk genealogy book for those names and came up dry. Give me a couple of days and I will go through these newsletters, have 10 years of them, but they each have an index. I have this in a huge notebook, going to have to put it into several smaller ones. Those big ones won't hardly let you turn the pages. There might be some websites with VanBuskirks info on them. The Olive Tree is a good site for information on the New Netherland. Laurens Andriessen VanB came to this country prior to 1654 when he married Janettje Jans, a Dutch widow. He was an orphan's master, meaning he took care of the estate and saw to it the children got the use of the money.
She had some children with her first husband and I think then she had 4 more sons with Laurens. I descend from the fourth one, Thomas L VanB and his second wife, Volkertie Collier, his son Michael VanB and wife Maria Vandeventer. Laurens was born in Denmark, which was later a part of Prussia, so I have a good dose of Dane and Dutch in my blood. If you saw my granddaughter, it shows in her. She is a big girl for 20 months and in a size 3T.
