The problem is: Frances is female and Francis is male, so confusion is over the two genders.
Frances Bushnell b 1602 Eng., d Feb 15 1675, ae 73, Hartford, CT., bur. Center Church Cemetery (Ancient Burying Ground), marker "Mother of the known children of Thomas Hosmer". married Apr 6, 1635 Hawkhurst, Eng. to Thomas Hosmer b/bapt Jan. 1, 1603, Hawkhurst Co., Eng. His first wife. I have 4 children: Hannah, Clemence, Deacon Stephen and Esther/Hester.
He married his second wife May 8, 1679 to C/Katherine (Hoskins) Wilton, widow.
I am descended through first wife, through their daughter Esther/Hester Hosmer(1646/7-1702) who was wife(1) married Sep 20, 1666 to Rev. Thomas Buckingham (1646-1709)-one of the ten founders and followers of the Collegiate School afterwards called Yale.
Isn't this fun! Take care, Louise
