I have Bushas in my line; the family verbal history is that it was a French name spelled phonetically. It was also spelled Bussha and Busshee before it finally settled down to Busha in the 1860's. I wondered if it was originally Bouchet but haven't been able to trace the line before 1850, so can't be sure.
