The BUTCHEE surname may be a correct spelling of the name your are searching. My ancestors were named BUTCHEE and were in Marengo co. Alabama starting in 1818. They then relocated to Mississippi in the 1840 and then some went back to Alabama and some to Texas and Oklahma. The orginal spelling was BUETSCHI and yes it is french, but my BUTCHEE ancestors came from Switzerland. Could we have a possible connection ?
