I wanted to publicly thank Donna for her post. When exchanging information you never know when something you put in a message will trigger a lead for someone else. Five years ago my cousin gave me a bible from my great grandparents dating from their marriage in 1885. I did a little searching at the time and FamilySearch.org information on my g g grandfather, Paulson Bush, had his death and burial in Boone County Indiana. I never went beyond that point. In February of this year I found a little booklet my second cousin had put together on the Newton family from Edgar County Illinois covering them up to 1988 (before computers) so I thought I would put it on some software for him. Margaret Ellen Newton married William Wilson Bush and it was their bible. I did some work on the Newton's and a lot on my mother's side and always thought I should go to Boone County to find Paulson or Paulser or Paulsor Bush.
Last week while searching for unrelated information from a tombstone I had photographed Donna's post came up because of Paulson's name being mentioned while she was searching for Absalom Buchanan in Edgar County Illinois. Now I find out the Adams/Bush/Cemetery is only about a mile from the Newton cemetery. In what little genealogy I have done in the past few months this is just another example of how important it is to share information. Two weeks ago I followed up a lead from a remark my second cousin made about some Newton's being buried in Spangler Cemetery in Vermillion County Indiana. He had never searched there but cemetery records listed Walter Newton and son, Dr John Newton. I found them and now the mystery (to him) of Walter has been cleared up the same as how Donna cleared up the wrong information about Paulson Bush. The computer is a great tool but sometimes you have to take the trip. Thank you Donna for posting your message and also making the trek through the weeds to the cemetery.
John
