Philip A. Bush Family -- PA
Posted by: Barbara Piatt (ID *****1474) Date: October 04, 2010 at 11:34:54

The farthest back Bush ancestor I have is Philip A. Bush(or Phillip)(1832 - 1893)... m. Catharine Slonager (1833-1904). Philip's parents were supposedly a John and Mary Bush, but this is not confirmed and I have no dates. Have been trying for years and can't seem to connect this family. If anyone can help, really would appreciate it.

Children:

William Frank (b. 1853)
Susannah (b. 1855)
Nancy C. (b. 1856)
Elizabeth (b. 1858)
Daniel Albert (b. 1859 in Trade City, PA ... d. 1936 in Valier, PA)(m. Araminta Celeste McHenry)
George W. (b. 1861)
John A. (b. 1863)
Clark W. (b. 1865)
Adaline (b. 1867)
Harry (b. 1870)
Savilla Beatrice (b. 1872)
Julia (b. 1878)
Jennie (b. 1878)

Daniel Albert was my G-Grandfather and was a farmer. My Mother says he was of Irish descent (not German), that he told lots of Irish jokes, played Irish tunes on the fiddle, etc. The family may not have actually come from Ireland, however -- could have been from England but with Irish ancestors.

This family lived mostly in the area of Punxsutawney, PA. Several are buried in a cemetery at Valier, PA.

Families connected by marriage include Hicks, Parsons, Mohney, Divler, Shields, Means.
