Henry Bush was born in 1843 in Hartford, OH. He died in Columbus, OH on July 13, 1908. He was married to my great-grandmother, Marietta Stevens. She was born, June 8, 1845, possibly in Utica, OH, which is where she and Henry lived and she died on 22 Jan 1910. I have two conundrums with which I need help. 1. We have no idea where Henry Bush came from. As many of you have found, there are a lot of men named Henry Bush. The other question ia about Marietta's mother. She is Sarah Chapman, born Octo 18, 1809 and died Sep 29, 1889. She was married to Lemuel Bacon Stevens. Al of my life and my mother's life, we have been told this story passed down that we are somehow related to John (Johnny Appleseed) Chapman. My Aunt, who is almost 90 swears this is true and is mad that we told her we don't think we are related. If you have any information about Henry Bush or any information that my great-great grandmother Sarah (Elizabeth?) Chapman is actually related to John, that would be wonderful. Sarah was the daughter of Stephen Chapman born in CT in 1783 and Mary Walker from Pennsylvania. Stephen is preceded by Levi Chapman, b. 1740 followed by Levi, b: 1707, Joseph Chapman, b. 1673, and lastly John Chapman b.1644. All of the Chapman men were born in the Saybrook, CT, area.
