AN ELEGANT MONUMENT -- C.R. ROBERTS & Co., marble cutters of this city, have just completed an elegant monument of Italian marble to be placed over the grave of the late William BUSH. The monument has a granite base 3 feet square by 18 inches thick; and on the top of the granite is a marble base 2 feet 8 inches square by 8 inches thick, with handsome molding. Then comes a die 2 feet 4 inches high by 2 feet square, with a raised shield on each of the 4 sides, and covered with a cap 2 feet 6 inches square by 8 inches in thickness furnished with a heavy and elaborately wrought molding on top and bottom. On one of the shields is the following inscription in finely executed letters: “William BUSH, died March 18, 1872, aged 56 years and 4 months, a native of New York.” On the cap of the die stands a shaft of solid marble 8 feet 6 inches high. This shaft, or column, is 17 inches square at the base and 10 inches at the top. The entire monument is made of Italian marble highly polished. Thelettering is the work of Mr. ROBERTS, and the other portion is the work of Mr. DOOLEY, the other member of the firm. We understand that the monument will be placed at the head of Mr. BUSH’s grave in a day or 2.
