Julie,
Now that you are "back at it a little bit" working on this Bush family, maybe you will find some time to correct errors and omissions, add documentation if you have any, and delete from your website information that is stated as fact but for which you have no proof or even solid evidence tht would take a legitimate genealogist in that same direction.
On your website you say that you will take us "on a fascinating journey through time that began with John Bush, born in England in 1568..."You go on to tell us about a John Bush B: 1568 in Hampshire England who had a son John Bush B:1590 in Towbridge, Wiltshire, England. This John Bush now known to many as "Neptune" John. You say that once "Neptune" John was settled in Virginia he sent for his wife and 2 daughters, and that "Shortly thereafter, John moved his family to St. George Parish in Spotsylvania County. Here John and Elizabeth had two other children: 1. Abraham "Fact is Spotsylvania County did not exist at that time. What is the evidence that "Neptune" John and his wife had 2 additional children? What is the evidence that "Neptune" John is the father of Abraham? The fact is, you have no evidence.
You show that Abraham and 1st wife Martha had a son Daniel that was born in 1663 and died the same year. You have no evidence that Daniel died as a child, let alone the year he was born.(We can be quite sure that he died prior to the date of his father's will.)You list children of Abe & Martha as Daniel, Thomas, George, Abraham, Mercy, all born between 1652-1663.You then list the children for Abe and his 2nd wife Ann as Charity, Jacob, Elizabeth, John, all born between 1660-1676.BIG ERRORS HERE- You show Abe's daughter Charity as being married to Peter Cash and that is not correct, it is a grandaughter that married Peter Cash. You show John as being born in 1660- if that were the case, then his mother would have been Martha, not Ann. Which is it?You say that this John married Margaret Bruce and about 1700 they moved to Orange Co.,Va.Are they the same John Bush and wife Margaret that are found in records for other counties before appearing in records for Orange County?
For anyone who has done some serious research into the early generations of this Bush family, it becomes apparent that you have not.If you had put together this work of fiction only for your own amusement, that would be one thing, but you are once again encouraging people to look at your website which promotes your $52.00 book. For anyone that thinks they are getting a factual genealogy of "The Bush Family-1568-1999", the title on your webpage, they need to think again, and again, and again...
