Sheri,
Since there seems to be a problem with our emails reaching each other, I am posting this to Bush Gen Forum. Your email basically says what you have already placed on the forum.

Hi Mr. Cato
I am working on my family history and I see where I am descended from I think, Richard Bush. I have carbon copies of pages that were researched sometime in the 1950 or 1960's for my grandmother or great grandmother.
My great grandmother was one of the 6 daughters of Rev. Thomas DeLoach Bush of Louisiana, son of Isaac Bush and Martha Murray. Based on what I have seen on the message boards on Genealogy.com, you are the Coordinator of Bush Genealogy Research. Do you have a website where your information is posted or has it been published in a book?
Some of the pages are hard to understand that I have. The way it is typed, it is hard to understandwho children belong to. I would love to find something that I could compare what I have to so I can determine exactly how far back my line goes. IN fact, I have 2 different sets of these sheets
but they both have the same information only typed a little different, but still hard to understand. In addition, I have copies of papers that were used for DAR applications for a couple of my grandmother's cousins. My grandmother was admitted to DAR 10/17/1956.
Any help and guidance would be appreciated. At the present time it is impossible for me to travel to the south eastern states to do any verification as I live in Texas.
Thank in advance.

Sheri,
Thanks for your inquiry. Carol Sikes was planning to answer your inquiry but due to a medical emergency for one of her relatives she is now away from her home and away from her records and has ask me to answer your inquiry.
You indicate that you may be a descendant of Richard Bush (I) who married Elizabeth Beby (Bibby) of Essex County Virginia. You also indicated that you have some typed pages of information from the 1950 or 1960 which, because of the way it is written, is hard to understand.
I suspect the typed information that you are referring to came either directly, or indirectly, from a book titled, "THE BUSH FAMILY AS DESCENDED FROM RICHARD AND ELIZABETH BEBY BUSH OF VIRGINIA", which was compiled by Mary Smith Black and edited by Elizabeth Willis DeHuff. For years the information in this book has been used to apply for membership in Colonial Dames. In our research of this line of Bushes we found a number of conjectures in the book that simply were not true. This was pointed out to Colonial Dames when Carol applied for membership. Instead of using the erroneous material found in the book, Carol used the primary records we had found. Colonial Dames could not believe they had been accepting applications all these years based on erroneous conjectures. They immediately sent their own genealogist to check it out. As a results, Colonial Dames no longer accepts applications based on the erroneous information found in the book.
If you would like for me to take a look at one of the pages of information that you have, you can scan an image of one of the pages to a file and then attach the file to an email to me.
Regards,
Gene L. Cato, Sr.

P.S. (Apr 20, 05)The book I mentionedwas mimeographed which makes the pages look like carbon copies. In trying to determine where you are coming from in your research, and thus avoid a lot of wheel spending, I am asking you to send me a photocopy of one of the pages or at least type the top half of one of the pages word for word and line for line and send it to me. If there is a page number in either the top left hand corner or the top right hand corner be sure to include that number. GLC
