Is this Abigail Bush 1790 Laurens Co., SC census??
Still trying to identify the Abigail Bush found on the 1790 Laurens Co., SC census residing near George Bush and Samuel Dillard. Could this be her????
South Carolina Deeds 1773-1778 N-4:353-356
5/1771John Spurgin of Berkley Co., SC and wife, Elizabeth sell to Jacob Pennington 250 acres on Indian Creek of Broad River in Berkley Co (later Laurens/Newberry) which was granted to James Ronalls in 1762, which Ronalls sold to John Spurgin on 4/7/1769. Witnessed by Randolph Casey, Moses Casey and Abasel (Abigail?) Casey. Proven 5/8/1771, recorded 1/18/1775
It would appear that"Abasel" Casey, the witness in the above deed was really Abigail Casey, the wife of Moses Casey, Sr.
The Will of Jacob Pennington in 1762 Berkely Co., SC names his daughter as Abigail Casey, the wife of Moses. Another daughter, Charity Pennington married Randolph Casey. Jacob Pennington was the father of Isaac and Jacob Pennington, Jr. also.
Jacob Pennington, Sr. (died 1762) was the brother of Charity Pennington who married Charles King and were the parents of Jacob King all of Laurens/Newberry Counties.
This King family was linked by marriage to the Blalock, Bennett, Rowland and Bush families of Laurens/Newberry Counties.George Bush who was on the 1790 Laurens Co., SC census and John Housen Bush both witnessed the Will of JOhn Blalock in 1790 Newberry Co. Blalock named as legatees Reuben Rowland and his children, and Micajah Bennett and his son, John Blalock Bennett,. Both Bennett and Rowland were Blalock's sons in law. Rowland's daughter, Mary, married John Housen Bush. Bennett's daughter, Elizabeth, married Jacob King (son of Charles King and Charity Pennington.)
John Housen Bush witnessed a deed on 5/19/1792 in Newberry Co when Obadiah Roberts sold land (150 acres on Indian Creek) in Newberry Co. to Isaac Evans. This land adjoined that of Jacob Pennington. (The same land Pennington purchased from Spurgin in 1771 with Abigail Casey, a witness.
Is it possible that Abigail Pennington Casey after the death of husband, Moses Casey, then married an unidentified Bush who had died by 1790??
