Hello again Lisa;
Thanks for your informative reply. I believe that I have resolved one point. Alberta Eliza Burwell (your grandmother) was baptised as Hannah Alberta on 14 Apr. 1865. My birthdate for her in my previous message was a typo error. Now Margot calls her Hannah Alberta and you call her Alberta Eliza -- I have another place where I find her name as Hannah Alberta Elizabeth. I guess all these are the same person and that your grandmother actually had three names.
Occasionally I get to London, Ontario and the next time I am down that way I will make a point of visiting Woodland Cemetery. I do have photos of the gravestones for Hannibal and his wife, Laura (Williams, also for the following children: Emma A. Burwell and Ernest Victor Burwell. I do not have negatives as these pictures were taken my a cousin of mine many years ago.
Col. Mahlon Burwell's son and his family are also buried at Woodland Cemetery namely: Son, Edward Burwell and wife, Matilda Walter along with their son, Arthur Walter Burwell, Agnes L. Gertrude Burwell, Maude E.C. Burwell and Juliet A.F. Burwell.
Col. Mahlon Burwell and his wife, Sarah (Vail)Burwell are buried at Burwell's Corners/Park in the churchyard at St. Stephen's Anglican Church. This is located Conc. 10, Lot C, Dunwich Township, Elgin Co., Ontario and it is south west of St. Thomas. Yes, their stones are raised table-like stones. See, your memory isn't crumbling at all!
When I get to London, I will make it a point to also visit St. Paul's Cathedral so I can view the photograph of Archbishop David Williams too.
This brings me to another picture that I have seen but cannot identify. On a visit to the museum at St. Thomas I saw a large picture of an eligent looking lady whom the museum attendant thought was Laura Williams (Hannibal's wife) but was not sure. I took a picture of the picture and hope to put a name on this lady someday. Perhaps I will dig it up and send a photocopy to you for your thoughts. Of course, that will mean that I will need your mailing address which you can send to me directly via email.
I really had plans to meet with a cousin from Michigan this fall for some research in and around the London area but had to cancel do to other priorities on the homefront.
Do you have photos of your grandparents - Hannibal & Laura and of Alberta Eliza & her husband, Archbishop David Williams? If it is possible, I would love to have copies (just print size) or photocopies if you wouldn't mind. All these names, dates and facts can't touch having a picture to go with the data.
Running out of chatter and time at the moment. Please keep in contact. Ask me some questions and I'll try to answer as best I can.
