Family lore says we had a ancestor called "Granny Burus"--who lived to be over 100 years old and smoked cigars. We have a snuff box that was said to belong to her with "Burus" engraved on it. I think she may have been the grandmother of John A. Victor who married Cora Dye around 1890. they had four children:Robert Warren, John Claude, emily Louise and Charlotte Marie.
Does anybody else have a ciagr smoking centarian Granny Burus in their Burus family tree??
