You might find some useful information about the Guilford Co., NC, Burtons on my site. It is not yet known which line they were. The DNA project has shown at least FIVE *unrelated* lines of Burtons in VA & NC alone. Bob Burton of Gainesville, Marj Barron and I have done a lot of work on this particular family but we still do not know the father of Richard Burton Sr. of Guilford Co. nor do we have confirmation of which lineage group (DNA) they are.
