Cousin A. and I have just started researching this family. This data is a rough draft only; additions and corrections are welcomed.

Seeking parent [mom possibly nee Ann BURTON] and spouse's names of Burton ELMER, b. ca 1870 in New York. His father was born in New York and his mother was born in England [see 1860 census below] per the 1880 Galen, Wayne Co., NY [New York] census where he is an adopted son of Anson BENJAMIN & Cynthia J. LEONARD [our ancestor]. Children born in either Westmoreland, Oneida Co., NY, or possibly near Clyde, Wayne Co., NY, of Anson & Cynthia are: Amanda [Mandly], Merrit, Maria Antoinette, Rosella, Frederick, Mary J. and possibly William A. BENJAMIN.

In the 1860 Westmoreland, Oneida Co., NY, census Ann BURTON, age 23, is doing housework, born abt. 1837 in England for the Anson & Jane BENJAMIN family.

Thank you in advance.
