thank you for this info.... i have another grandfather that went by his mothers maiden name, i will start looking into the trent family, my grandfather was john burton born abt 1906 his parents william and elizabeth owens burton died togeather 11/1913 in anderson co tn. but they were from rogersville tn, all that i know about his family is that they had family back then in the presmans home area, i was also told that their was native american in his family i dont kn ow if it was on his burton or owens side, but because of the times i would assume it might have came from his mom because back then not amy white women would have got with a native american, i read about this in an article they said it would be more likely that a native american woman would have got with a white man..thank you alot foryour help
