Sorry but what I have is not fraudulent.........it comes from the book title "Revolutionary War Bounty Land Grants" and among the BURTONS is listed:

Burton, Jacob, NC PRIVATE 22 Apr. 1785 228 acres.......

From what I've seen 228 acres usually meant the land was granted from the WASHINGTON CO NC (territory) that became TENNESSEE.

Sometimes the Rev War soldier sold the land they received, sometimes they moved to it and sometimes they passed to relatives or traded these grants for something else. I have no idea what became of this Burton, but he is listed in the Revolutionary War Bounty Land Grants book as receiving this land. If you want the book info such as Author, publisher, if you want photos that I took of this book and pages with BURTON on them, etc.....just email me personally and I am happy to share, but beyond that the BURTON surname will have to take this information and go with it, I'm not interested in working Burton lines, this is NOT my line. But it is not fraudulent information either. This is real.

Thanks and good luck to you all......
