Dear Patricia,
After your previous message (4439 of 19 June 2002) I tried to find a link between Fanny Esther Burton and Thomas Burton Jr. So far I have not been able to find that link. Below you will find the data I have been able to find on the family of Thomas Burton and Susanna Milliken. I started collecting data on that family because they lived so close to my own Burton family, and I didn't want to get confused with the all the similar names.
Neither of your messages have mentioned the proof you might have that Fanny Esther was descended from Thomas and Susanna Burton. If you have birth registrations or christening records, I would be interested to know about them.
I have communicated with other descendants of this Burton family, and if you are connected to this family, I will happily give you their contact details.

The Census of 1861 for the Township of Pickering states that Thomas and Isabella Burton lived in a 1 1/2 story, single family, frame house. They had 1 cow valued at $20 and a $3 household income.
1868-1875
He died in Whitevale about 1868, and his wife Isabella Wilson, in 1875. His three sons, Thomas, Israel and Richard, settled in Pickering.

OBITUARY
BURTON - Richard, farmer, of Pickering, formerly of Markham, had a fatal accident the 15th inst. while adjusting the centre post to which are fastened the barn doors, it fell over, striking him in the abdomen, causing death in less than 30 hours. He leaves a wife and 7 young children. - Sept. 24, 1856, p.199, N.I. Markham Economist.

Wilson, Mrs. Sarah Ann - Sarah Ann Palmer was born in London, England in 1818, came to Canada in 1832, and settled in Pickering. At age 19, she married Richard Burton, by whom she had 7 children. He died in 1856, and in 1874, she married William Wilson. She died of cancer, June 24, 1879. Survived by her husband. - Nov. 17, 1880, p.367, Obituary.

The Census of 1861 states that Thomas Burton and his family lived in a single family, 1 1/2 story, frame house.
Thomas Burton married Susan Milliken, daughter of Major Benjamin Milliken of Markham, and settled on the farm. Later he was Whitevale's first postmaster, and also conducted hotel for some years. He died in 1900, aged 85 years.

The Census of 1861 states that Isreal Burton and his family lived in a single family, 1 1/2 story, frame house, on 3/4 of an acre of land. They had 1 horse and 2 pigs valued at $66. They owned one carriage for pleasure valued at $60.
Israel Burton married Caroline Sleigh, daughter of William Sleigh. Mr Burton was a farmer, but ran a butcher business for some time and also at an early period (about 1855) conducted a store a Belford. Mrs Burton died in 1909, aged 82, and Mr Burton, having gone to Chicago to be with his children, died there in 1910 at the age of 88.
