Well, I haven't been able to get back that far. I just received the SS info on my gfather, and it lists his date of birth as June 27, 1875 in Greanoke (Green Oak?) PA. It lists his parents as John Burt and Rebecca Bovaird, both probably born abt. 1845-1855. He lived in McDonald, PA from at least 1936-1967. Family oral history says his father was born in Scotland, but have been unable to locate anything further. It also says our surname used to be Burtt or Burtte, but cannot confirm that either. If any of these names fit anything you have, I would certainly appreciate hearing about it.
