I am looking for information on my gggrandfather Fred W. Burt b. 4/1830-NJ moved to Grand Rapids, WI about 1857. I have not been able to locate any information concerning his parents. Fred was Ass't Post Master for the area. He also served in the Union Army as a Private in the Vol. Inf. of WI. Also, does anyone have information on his wife. The US Censuses show 3-4 spellings for his wife (Eliza, Alesta, Selesia and Celestia). I have confirmed that they are all one in the same based on age, birth date, birth place and length of time shown married to Fred on the 1900 Census (45 yrs). She was b. 1/1838 in PA.
