Hello, just a long shot. My Phineas Allen Burt family is from New York. His son, George Washington Burt, named one of his sons Ralph. Ralph died as a young boy from diptheria in WI, but George seemed very intent on naming his children after his ancestors. Phineas was born in Oneida Co. in 1807 and married Polly Evans in Tioga Co. in 1829. She was from Tompkins Co. They had 12 Children: David Franklin, William R., Charlotte Melvina; George Washington, Polly, Charles M., Maria Elizabeth, Eliza Ann, Anna Jenette, Mary Jane, Allen, Julia Beatta. The children were born in Cuba, Allegany Co., Machias, Cattarugus Co., Amity, Allegany Co. The whole family moved to Brown Co. WI in the 1860s, during and after the war.

I have been searching for Phineas' family for a long time, there are so many Burts in NY. He said his parents were born in NY, but of course, we don't know if that is true or not. I think his family is from MA, at least his grandfather. Anyway, just a thought...I have been looking at the same Burts as you...just can't connect any yet.
