Mary Ann Jane BAKER, born December 8, 1782, probably Charlotte County, Virginia, died January 9, 1857, Edgefield County, South Carolina; she was a daughter of James Edward BAKER, born circa 1755, Charlotte County, Virginia, and of his wife, Elizabeth FUQUA, born circa 1762, Charlotte County, Virginia--they are believed to have migrated south into Edgefield District, South Carolina between 1785-1790. Mary Ann Jane BAKER is thought to have married twice--first to Samuel C. SCOTT, circa 1802, Edgefield District, South Carolina. Will of Armsted BURT, her second husband, enumerates four (4) children: Francis W. [Wyatt] BURT; Henry S. BURT; Armsted H. BURT, and a daughter, Martha [BURT] GARETT.
