Looking for anyone doing research on the Burts who think they might have a common ancestor to my gggranfather Phineas Allen Burt, b. 1807 in Oneida Co., NY, moved to Tompkins Co. area,must of married and had first child David, 1825 and wife died, then m. Polly Evans (b. 1814) in Berkshire, Tioga Co. 1829, moved back to Groton, Tompkins area where their first 5 Children were born:
Charlotte, 1832, William R., 1834, George Washington; 1838, Maria Sarah 1840.
They moved to Cuba, Allegany Co. by 1842 where Charles was born;and where Pollie was born in 1844;
then to Machias, Cattaraugus Co, where Eliza, 1846, Anna Jenette,1848 Mary Jane,1850,Allen,1851
and we think they might of moved back to Allegany Co. again because their youngest Julia Beatta said she was born in Allegany Co.in 1854 although that might be misinformation.
Can't find any of the family in 1860 Census.
The family and spouses all moved to Brown Co., Lawrence Twp. WI in 1863 or before.Trying to find out who Phineas Burt's parents are. He said in the 1870&80 Census that his parents were born in NY.
The girls are married to the Snider, Phillips, VanKueran, Osborn and Vose men of NY. The boys married, Marble, Vose, VanKueran, of NY and Childs, Hare and O'Harra of WI.
Any help you can give me I would appreciate.
