I am a direct descendant of Moses Burt. According to Rose's book about MO pioneers, his grandson Franklin settled in Callaway Co in the early-to-mid 1830s. Land records show he bought his first parcel of land in 1835 near the community of Auxvasse. Moses' son, and Franklin's parents were William (b. 1776 in Culpeper Co VA) and Sallie GREENUP Burt (b. MD, a niece of a KY Governor Christopher Greenup). Both parents died in Indiana. Don't know who you stem off of, but more info on the line can also be found in the "History of Callaway County - 1884". Both books reveal a wealth of info, not only about the Burts, but many collateral families as well. Keep in touch, perhaps we can solve some of the Burt family mysteries.
