Hi Susan,
I haven't really researched this side of my family. Burse was my grandmother's maiden name but, I'm happy to tell you what I know. I did find Della's death record (finally)on microfilm in the Maine State Archives, she was actually Linda Della Burse.
Most of my information comes from the 1860 and 1880 census'.
Here is the family breakdown of what I know thus far:
Simmon Burse (my ggg grandfather)
Iddo Burse m. Ursula Nickerson (gg grandparents) I haven't checked to see if there are sibs.
Alfonzo C. Burse (died 1893 age 36)m. 1. Jennie Drew 1888(great grandparents)
1 child = Hennrietta Burse (grandmother)
2. Laura Baker 8-18-1891(no children)
The siblings of Afonzo including ages as of 1860 census:
Malintta(?) 12
Loretta 10
Alfonzo 6
Alfahara 4
Marilla 2
Siblings from 1880 census:
Ada 18
Linda 15
I hope this helps...and I'll look again next time I'm in the Library to see if I can dig up any information on possible siblings for Iddo or Simmon. The census did list the birth place of Iddo as Mercer, Maine. Hope this might be helpful. Let me know how you make out.
