My GG-grandfather, Silas Burce, was born in Starks, Somerset County, Maine. They spelled their name Burce with the exception of one son who spelled his BURSE. My gg-grandfather had a daughter named Dorcas, born ca. 1832 who disappeared around age 17. I think the brother with the Burse spelling had a daughter named Della. That family lived in Minnesota.
