Your post caught my eye because of the name "Commander" which is used as a middle name. One of my lines is the "Burroughs" line, sometimes spelled "Burrous". My great-grandfather also had a middle name of "Commander" (John C. Commander Burch, b 1868 in AL). This might be a shot in the dark, but would you happen to have any Burroughs or Burches in your line? Where were your Burrous folks from?
