Tracey, post no. 2122 on this forum tells a bit more on your family. A Mira Pell was in it. My Burrows/Burris/Burress book says George Burrus that married Mira Pell was son of Martin Burrus, Rev War soldier that lived in Surry co NC until 1814. He moved to Overton co TN and then to IL where he died 15 sept. 1849 in Morgan county IL. The author of the book says he thinks that same George Burrus that another researcher shows as married to Pell may have been married to an Elizabeth Taylor instead. This leaves controversy as to which line Jonathan was from. The BURRUS line from VA is one of the earliest lines and goes back a long way. I had thought for a long time I descended from those because some lived in Wayne co KY where my line lived, but there were two different lines I have since found out. Check with the writer of post no. 2122 and the ones below it to see if they know more. RB
