Mr. Flanagan, have you found out any more info on those Burris brothers you mentioned that may have come to the US from Northern Ireland? My cousin said he always heard that there were five Burris bros that came to US and lost track of each other and your info is the closest to his story that I have found yet. My line is Jesse Burris b. 1770 in either VA or NC or TN, d. 1842 in Clark co. IL. Jesse Burris b. 1798 NC, believed to d. Wayne co KY as his widow Matilda Mcclain Burris was there in the 1880's. This Jesse's son was Philip Emory Burris b. 1826 Anderson co TN, d. 1882 Smith co TN. Philip is my 3rd great grandfather and my direct line stays in Smith, Trousdale and Sumner counties in TN after him. The others moved to IL, OK, CA. There were many Burris's even in early US history and after studying them many years, I've seemed to find everyone else's line except mine!Any more info appreciated. Richard.
