"Died: Sunday afternoon about 5 o'clock two boys, John Houston and Sam Burris, 17 and 18 years old, got into a difficulty over a dog. Houston struck the other over the head with a rock, crushing his skull, from the effects of which he died Sunday night. He then took to the brush as soon as the killing was done and has not been found yet, though the officers are scouring the woods near Durant for him."
Also, did you know that there is a Burris Cemetery near Durant?
