I am also having trouble with the elusive Burris/Burress families from TN and unprovable stories of Cherokee blood. I only know mine are lost once I get back to Bedford County, TN. He was Thomas Burress who had a son, Berry Greenbury(b.9-22-1821) that later moved to Christian Co. KY. He married Sibell Dawson Howell(b.1821). Berry died in 1898 and is buried in Hopkinsville,KY. I think Thomas's father was a John. Can anyone pick up on something from this.
