I am very happy to hear that the probable home of Allen Dale Burress still exists. He was my 3rd great grandfather. I have heard his home referred to as "Steam Mill Place." I have transcribed copies of the obituaries of Allen Dale Burress and Eveline Strong Burress that I would be happy to email to you if you don't already have them. I would love to see email copies of the will and deeds of sale that you mentioned. What I would enjoy seeing more than anything is a scanned photo of the home if you have one. I am descended from Erastus Strong Burress, the oldest son of Allen Dale Burress. Erastus died February 4, 1863 at Camp Douglas, Illinois, when his only child, my great grandfather, Lawrence Lafayette Burress, was less than 2 years of age. Lawrence Lafayette Burress moved to Wise County, Texas as a young man, and he lived there the remainder of his life.
