Ray: Responding to your inquiry, there is a Burriss Family Genealogy that came out in 1991. I served on the committee of family members that completed the work. Maude Burriss Johnston spent more than 70 years working on the genealogy. She died in 1986. The work begins with Joshua Burriss, born in 1724, died in 1804. Despite years of work by Cousin Maude, as I affectionatey knew her, no one was ever able to get behind Joshua in the chain. The genealogy came out in paperback format, seven volumes, each being about 125 pages long.
