Elliot Remus Burr, b. 1842 was a descendant of Benjamin Burr, a founder of Hartford. He had eight children, four boys and four girls. He was a veteran of the Civil War, became ill and because his fiancee, Sarah Jane Voorhies asked Lincoln if he could be released so that she and his sister could nurse him, he was discharged. I have his background and information about some of his descendants.
