We could be related. In case you haven't found it yet, the 1901 UK census web site is incredibly good and if you are clever you can avoid paying any money. I found the information following about Burr's in Shoreditch. I'm only guessing about the situation (which you have to do if you don't want to pay for the real entries) but it looks like one family containing your then 8 year old GtGrandMother Florence. Clarenda, born c.1846, looks a good bet as your GtGtGrandMother. Clarenda Burr 45 London Shoreditch Emily Burr 18 London Shoreditch Jame Burr 16 London Shoreditch General Labourer George Burr 14 London Shoreditch General Labourer Albert Burr 10 London Shoreditch Florence Burr 8 London Shoreditch Kate Burr 4 London Shoreditch Jessie Burr 3 London Shoreditch There were no other Burr's in Shoreditch in 1901, however in the rest of London we were all over the place and leads to the possible link to you. In the same census I think I found my Grandfather John Burr, Coachman, living in St Marylebone, London. He was born in c. 1868 in Anstey, Hertfordshire (the very same place you have been searching for Barkers). I also found a whole group of Burr's, born in Barkway, Hertfordshire, 2.9 miles from Anstey, who seemed to have all moved to various places in London. I would like to discuss the family links with you and the Anstey connection. Notify Administrator about this message?
