Hello Lori. Please forgive my great delay in replying. I drifted away from the family research for awhile to do other research, but I'm back. I remember my dad talking about his (great)uncle Nate. If I remember correctly, he was married to Alice, who later married Johnny Burr. I remember visiting with Johnny and Alice a few times - I attended Alice's funeral with my parents, Mark and Martha Burr, and dad's sister, Martha Weldon. Seems to me I remember talking with a Donald Burr from California about how Seymour Dan Burr lost his arm. He said that a cannon ball had taken it off during the Civil War, but in actuality, a tree fell on him while clearing land in Michigan and it had to be amputated. But I can just see Seymour Dan telling tall tales to the youngsters. I haven't made much progress in my family research. Lois Hess has provided me with some interesting information concerning Seymour Dan's mother, Lucinda (Wheeler). But I still haven't been able to make any connections past Seymour Dan's father, Johnathan. Have you had any luck? You can contact me direct using burrma@hmcltd.net.
