African American or Creole French Burrs?

I am curious if there are any members of the Burr family who happen to be African American or of Creole French descent.

LOUIS K. BURR was born in June of 1853. One source says he was born in Missouri and another source says he was born in Indiana. The family may have migrated from Indiana to Missouri. My grandmother (his daughter) called him "black French." We don't know if that meant he was of African American descent, or that he had black hair, dark brown eyes, and possibly olive skin. He was supposedly of French descent. Many of his descendants suffer from lupus (approximately 30 people in my family). If any of this rings a bell, I'd love to hear from you!
