Recently I found an old ledger belonging to my grandfather, the earliest date in it is 1910 and lastest entry dated 1923. Up until I found this treasure we didn't have any names past his father and mother, my g-grandparents. According to his writings, his grandmother (my gg) was Ellen Burnside, usually called Nellie. She died in 1846 and was buried on Dec 25th of that year. She was married to William C. Hinds who died in 1853 or 54 at the age of 51 years. He also listed on the same page, below Ellen, the names of his Great Aunts who would have been Ellen's sisters (I'm guessing). They are listed as follows: - Butler Co, Jane Cuny - Pardo,Mercer Co. Molly Hosack - Iowa, Lucinda Farminger. His spelling may be wrong on some of this as I found some words misspelled through out his writings. William and Ellen had at least two children maybe three. They had a son Milton Hinds born Mar 2, 1843 and a daughter no information on her. Both children were raised by other families. Milton was found in the 1850 census living in Wolf Creek Butler Co. with the Orwig family. Not sure if they are connected by family. Since finding this ledger I now understand why Milton was not living with his parents since his mother died when he was three and father when he was 10 or 11. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, I have to use the internet for information as I live in Texas and it is hard to research so far from PA. Thanks for any help.
