I too can trace my roots back to General Ambrose Burnside.

I do know that a branch of the family moved to England and that one such member became a very prominent figure in the Nottingham area; establishing a country seat named Gedling House.

My mother and aunt were given a tour of the house last year on account of their ancestry.

I have an elderly aunt whom I rarely see and she has been compiling a family tree for many years. When it is finally finished she has promised my mother a copy.

I myself live in Liverpool and have close family in Lancashire and North Wales.
