I am also trying to see my link to the good General. I know we are related...as close as I can tell about 7 generations back..I believe an uncle. I was in Gettysburg and saw Ambrose in the was museum. My husband said I turned white. I thought I was seeing my father's oldest brother. I have been told by my grandfather and aunt (the family historian who has since passed on) that all Burnside's in the united states do tie back to the general and his family as they were first generation in the US. I am in possesion of the book "Burnside" and am trying to figure through what I do have of my family tree from which of Ambrose' brothers I would have decended. Any help you can be would be appreciated.
