Chelsea,
There was a Union General Ambrose E Burnside (1824-1881), but he did not have any children from his marriage with Mary E Bishop. His father was from SC but Ambrose was born and grew up in Ind.
There was a Burnside daughter who married a Wilson in 1868 Tx but none of their children were named Ambrose. She was from a Burnside family from Ky.
