Do you know your grandfather's full given name (Burt)? I was just informed a couple weeks ago that I have Clappers in my family some how connected to my ggg-grandparents: Edward Houghton & Katie Jane Burnside of Maryland, NY. Their children had an Uncle who lived at the farm on Potato Creek Dip (close to Cooperstown Junction). I know there was family in Colliersville, but just like Worcester, Davenport, Milford, and all the other locations of kin,... I just haven't had the time to go there. Every trip has been engrossed with Maryland & Schenevus and the Cooperstown Library (NYSHA). I won't be back up in Otsego until the Spring but am SERIOUSLY considering camping there for a couple weeks to get some more research done.
I'm gabbing. Sorry I took so long to come back here. Used to check all the time but it seems that over 90% of the time people respond directly with email rather then follow up posts. Hope to hear from you and to try to find your g-grandparents!
