May I enter the fray? You have mentioned some things that are too close to let pass. I am looking for a Charlotte Burnside who married a Daniel DeBolt in Virginia. I had previous information that she was born ca 1778 in Wales, but that source also said Daniel was born in France and if he is who I think he is, he was born in Fayette Co., PA, but the family was originally from Alsace-Lorraine some generations back. At any rate, what makes me think that there is a connection, is that this DeBolt fellow was in Licking Co., OH and Fairfield Co., OH. This is the first Burnside connection I have found that matches the DeBolt movements. Any clues from your side that would point in this direction? I have been trying to prove for nearly 20 years that an ancestor of mine is his son, but the link cannot be found. My ancestor had a Daniel DeBolt living with him in Violet Twp., Fairfield Co., OH in the 1850 census. At that time DAniel was about 75. This DAniel was to have married a Charlotte Burnside. The eldest daughter of my ancestor was named Margarette Charlotte. I'll grasp at any straw you might have. Thanks.
