Hi, Have you developed your Burnside lineage back 8 generations? It is possible you are related. Ambrose E Burnside lineage was as follows: son of Edgehill Burnside b 1790 who settled in Ind ca 1813, Edgehill was the son of James Burnside (c1754-1803) born in Va moved with his family to Laurens District SC where he married Anna Edgehill daughter of Thomas Edgehill, 1777. He was a Loyalist. James (1754-1803) was the son of James Burnside (1723-1798/99) and his wife Martha Rodgers Burnside. This James Burnside (1723-1798/99) and his son Andrew Burnside served on the Revolutionary side.
