Hello, fellow Burnside genealogist. I am new to genealogy and am looking for the rest of my tree. I have heard stories that link my line to Gen. Ambrose Burnside, but I have not been able to verify this link. This is what I have-
Great Grandmother-Ruby Pearl BURNSIDE;born 15 Feb 1894 in Stillwater, OK-MARRIED- Ervin Rosco HUGHES; born 5 Oct 1891.
GGreat Grandfather-Walter BURNSIDE;born 15 Aug 1863 in Scott Co., IN-MARRIED-Dora Ellen NICHOLS;born 17 Jan 1875 in IL.
GGGreat Grandfather-Robert BURNNSIDE;born 6 Mar 1835 (1834)in Lexington, Scott, IN-MARRIED-Nancy Jane AUSTIN;born 19 Oct 1838 in IN or KY.
GGGGreat Grandfather-Robert BURNSIDE; born 1783 in KY or SC-MARRIED-Nancy BALL;born 1785 in KY.
This is where I am lost I have conflicting information - Robert's father is either Robert or Joseph, mother unknown. But the father is supposed to be the son of Robert BURNSIDE; born 1725 in Scotland-MARRIED- Rebecca DODSON; born in Huddlesfield, England.
If anyone has this same information, please let me know that I may fill in my blanks. Thank You!
