Elizabeth "Lib" B. Culp GRAHAM - Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" B. Culp, 95, of 203 Home Avenue, Graham, died suddenly at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at 5:54 p.m. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Frank H. Culp and the daughter of Earnest Burnside and Mollie Burnside, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her son, Frank Thomas Culp. Lib was survived by a lifelong friend, Lib Williams of Graham. Lib was a retired supervisor with the Alamance County Board of Elections with 15 years of service. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Graham. She was a long time member of the Graham Appearance Commission and Graham Tree Board, the Graham Historical Society, the Alamance County Democratic Party, where she received their Lifetime Achievement Award for 2003, the Alamance County Senior Democrats the Democratic Women. Lib was the Burlington Civitan Club's Woman of the Year in 2000 and also received recognition, The Lib Culp Day, in appreciation for her services in Graham. According to Times-News articles, Lib Culp leaves her mark on Alamance County. As quoted by some of her friends…Tony Foriest remarks that, "She was one of the most energetic women I have ever known. She has made a unique mark in Alamance County politics." Vic Euliss said, "She was always there when you needed her." The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Graham on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jim Wall. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state. Memorials may be made to The Hill Center, 3200 Pickett Road, Durham, NC 27705.
